paul millsap serves notice

okay, so boozer somehow dodged the trade deadline and is still a member of the utah jazz. no matter - he can't stay in that starting lineup forever.

today, paul millsap served notice via espn.com's john hollinger, as a member of the writer's "nba in-season all-improved team." every day, more and more people are realizing that millsap gives you way more bang for your buck. so why keep paying for boozer?

not a good day for the blue devil alums. especially not after that excruciating loss to the terps.

boozer on the trading block?

espn's TrueHoop blog reports that boozer may be on the trading block, even though sloan wants to keep him:

Having lost 13 straight games, the perimeter-heavy Detroit Pistons would like to get their hands on Carlos Boozer. A Boozer-for-Rip Hamilton trade works, but Utah doesn't want to take back the three years, $38 million remaining on Hamilton's contract, even though he'd made a sweet backcourt mate for Deron Williams.

Boozer for Tayshaun Prince also works financially, but Prince has one more season after this one at $11 million, and the Jazz aren't looking to add salary for next season.

Utah coach Jerry Sloan wants to keep Boozer, who will be a free agent next summer, for the rest of the season, and perhaps beyond. To that end, the Jazz are shopping Andrei Kirilenko with all their might. But good luck with that one. Kirilenko won't have any takers until next season when he's in the last year of his deal.

could it be time to restart the paul millsap countdown? for now, we're watching -- and waiting impatiently.

paul millsap watch goes on hiatus

boozer had a monster game against philly, dropping 24 and 12, including going 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. millsap only poured in 4 points in 34 minutes.

it appears that boozer is re-energized, averaging 22. 2 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in the last 5 games - up 21% and 9% from his season averages, respectively. as such, it is time for the paul millsap watch to go on hiatus while we wait for boozer to return to his sluggish form.

but we will be watching.

day 8 of the paul millsap watch

the power forward duel reached a frenzy last night against the spurs. boozer scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, leading the utah charge to victory. but millsap went 8-of-12 for 20 points and added 7 rebounds, showing that he's no chump either. all this competition for the starting lineup is creating nothing but good results for the jazz.

this is day 8 in the countdown to paul millsap's arrival in the starting lineup.

day 7 of the paul millsap watch

apparently, boozer has been reading our updates and knows he's in the hot seat. trying to prove himself - and with chris bosh's 32 points and 17 rebounds to compete with - boozer dropped 22 and 18 against the raptors.

still, boozer was only 9-of-19. meanwhile, millsap was 5-of-8 for 10 points to go along with 6 rebounds in 11 fewer minutes.

if we're talking field goals per minute, boozer had 0.23, while millsap had 0.18. sure, that's a difference - but let's not forget that boozer missed on 0.26 field goal attempts per minute, while millsap was much better at 0.11. what could millsap have done if he had been in the starting lineup?

this is day 7 in the countdown to paul millsap's arrival in the starting lineup.

day 4 of the paul millsap watch

jazz stay at #20 in this week's espn power rankings. utah is 4-6 and faces toronto, san antonio, and detroit in its next three games. if they lose 2 of 3 (a very real possibility) or more, how much longer will boozer be heralded?

this is day 4 in the countdown to paul millsap's arrival in the starting lineup.

this definitely WON'T last

coach jerry sloan is sick of boozer's antics:

"Well I wouldn't mind them [boozer and mehmet okur] rebounding. There aren't any rules against them rebounding," Sloan said. "I mean, if you're just going to stay out there and shoot shots ... and not defend and not rebound, it's pretty tough." (source: http://espn.go.com/nba/preview?gameId=291113020)

ouch. really, can we start a countdown to paul millsap's arrival in the starting lineup?

this is day 1.

this can't last

boozer played 27 minutes in a 105-86 loss to the celtics, dropping in just 10 points and finishing with a plus/minus of -20. meanwhile, millsap pulled down 13 boards in 23 minutes to go along with 9 points and a -5 rating (i.e., he played better defense). how much longer before millsap replaces boozer in the starting lineup for good?

whine whine whine

boozer gets owned on a monster night by dirk (29 points in the fourth quarter!?!?). and then he whines a lot. typical.

boozer update

what a way to kick off 2009-10: carlos boozer goes 3 of 14 from the field against denver in a 114-105 loss. this season promises to produce many opportunities to poop on boozer.

a post just to poop on boozer

as i watch the blue devils poop all over xavier, it seems like an appropriate time to poop on a former dookie and the namesake of this blog: carlos boozer.

for those if you haven't been paying attention to the utah jazz this season... wait, let me start that sentence again. for those of you who have a life, you probably haven't noticed that carlos boozer has been riding the bench with a bum knee. he's contributed almost nothing to the jazz this season; in fact, the man hasn't played since before thanksgiving.

so, of course, what better time to come out and declare that you're going to opt out of your contract at the end of the season?

okay, despite my hatred for its hoops squad, duke is a great academic university, and i'm sure its graduates are all intellectual studs. carlos boozer, however, does not seem to be among the smart ones. why else would he come out and declare he doesn't need the jazz when they most clearly don't need him?

as chris sheridan points out, while boozer has been filing his nails on the pine every night, paul millsap has been kicking ass, averaging 15 and 9 while making less than 10% of what boozer does. and we all know about boozer's penchant for cutting and running (and not in the backdoor kinda way). why risk more money on him?

so, carlos boozer, way to make it easy on your GM to get rid of you. sure, you'll find a job somewhere else. but let's see how much game you have in the paint without kirilenko and okur drawing all defenders by draining threes from the wing.

Sports, politics, Chuck Klosterman, and Carlos Boozer

Three of my favorite things and one of my least favorite.

From an interview at Mouthpiece Sports:

Q: Both Barack Obama and Sarah Palin have basketball backgrounds. (Palin was dubbed “Sarah Barracuda” in high school; Obama likes to play in sweat pants and a tucked in t-shirt.) Who wins in a one-on-one game to 11 and why?

A: Obama has the size and the skills, but Palin would probably want it more. However, if it was a game of 2-on-2 and you had to pick a teammate from your own region, Obama would win easily. An Obama-Mark Aguire tickets destroys Palin and Carlos Boozer.

the sentiment is spreading

it seems that more and more people want to poop on boozer. well, at least, they seem to be interested in boozer and poop.

check out RockyBalboa's post on cougarboard.com. i'm not quite sure what this website is, either, but this user seems to want to see boozer "give a poop."

any thoughts, coach k?

coach k poops on boozer

so, i generally don't like anything about coach k because he's a dookie and i love the terps. but on friday night in beijing, he did something awesome.

he pooped on boozer.

as chris sheridan points out, coach k chose to go with carmelo anthony and tayshaun prince at center instead of boozer when dwight howard and chris bosh got into foul trouble. who knows why coach k did it; for now, though, it's just a day to celebrate a successful pooping on boozer.

Merde en Boozer?
